Gelateria Fisotti – the renowned ice cream shop on Otranto’s seafront, already awarded the prestigious “Two Cones” by the Gambero Rosso guide – returns as the true headquarters of Quattro Bambole Records, once again blending artisanal gelato and music into a single experience: Gelato Italiano Vol. 3, the third chapter of a musical saga launched in 2023 to create a soundtrack to enjoy among its glass cases. This EP captures the multifaceted flavors of the project – disco, house, broken-beat, boogie – like the tastes of a summer gelato, perfectly balanced between “body” and “sweetness.” It’s more than just a playful mix of rhythm and sweetness: it’s a manifesto of identity, merging the musical and artisanal know-how of Francesco Fisotti, who, as a gelato maker, also becomes the sonic aesthetic director of the label – and more specifically, of this compilation.

This third volume both confirms and raises the bar: six original tracks like six flavors lined up in a cup. From the tender, meditative broken jazz of You Nico, to the sunny, Balearic house of Issam Dahmani. Billy Bogus brings in electronic funk and boogie detours with a sexy, angular groove; Moolycash, in pure Quattro Bambole style, delivers a banger with hypnotic soulful vocals. Luca Olivotto crafts a ’90s house tune with velvety stabs and a cyclical bassline, while Giuseppe Ludlow closes with synthetic elegance fit for a summer runway – between retro house and ’80s Riviera fantasy. As always, the film photography of Vero Smalto and the artwork by Alyona Nikolaeva accompany the music with a visual aesthetic that evokes sun, landscapes, and a longing to slow down.

Gelato Italiano Vol. 3 is far more than a summer compilation. It’s a selection that celebrates the eclecticism and quality of the producers involved – from Milan to Berlin, passing through Salento and the Adriatic coast – delivering a sound that is artisanal, human, and danceable. Best served cold, but to be listened to warm
