As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again is the first new album from the Decemberists in six years. The album features the new song “Joan in the Garden,” a 19-minute prog epic on par with their early material. It also includes the single “Burial Ground” (featuring lead singer of the Shins, James Mercer), and has a collaboration with R.E.M.’s Mike Mills.
