Audiopile Review: Following the success of their instant classic The Cocaines 2×10”, SnPLO swiftly returns for a victory lap with Ciganisati. Like all great minimal producers worth their salt, the trio has mastered the art of sonic tailoring. Crafting tracks that are not quite techno nor noise, but enticingly in-between, a balancing act of equal parts caustic to equal parts groove. Where Ciganisati succeeds the most is in its improvisations—whether it’s the mutated, rumbling murmurs on the A1, the extra-terrestrial static on the B1 or B2’s raw and visceral bass line. The trio is constantly tweaking their compositions, leaving no choice but to surrender to the transcendental experience. For fans of Reinhard Voigt’s S.R.I. moniker or his older brother Wolfgang’s Studio 1 output. Ordered direct from the source, another big shoutout to SnPLO for holding it down.
