Audiopile Review: Georgian producer Saphileaum has released albums on some of our favorite imprints—Good Morning Tapes, Not Not Fun, Constellation Tatsu and Silent Season, to name just a few. The prolific producer finds a new home at another fave, the great Japanese institution Mule Musiq. Exploring Again is firmly planted in his deeply stylized zone that merges the luxurious tones of fourth world and new age with a pulsing tropical bounce, a combination that, as Saphileaum himself says, merge “tribal and cosmic inspirations. Tribal, as below, and cosmic as above.” From the shimmering rainforest-y thump of “Mysteries of the Ancients” to the humid swirl of “Indigo Child”, Saphileaum is in peak performance here, pushing the BPMs a little further than previous outings. Big recommendation for fans of DJ Python’s more energetic work or the sweltering workouts from Ramzi.
Mule Musiq welcomes another fresh producer to its vast catalogue of music from all around. This time Andro Gogibedashvili aka Saphileaum. A deeper shade of soul, precisely fashioned, growing from different playgrounds of inspiration. Exploring Together, his debut album for Mule, navigates a merry-go-round of gentle driven rhythm zones. Fourth-world spheres, Balearic tropes, field recording zones, tropical downbeat, tribal percussions, trancing sounds, balafon hums, mallet airs, hooky house — it’s all there, circling the eavesdropper into a dreamland of melodic undercurrents. Exploring Together is vast. Multifunctional. Spiritual. Made for gatherings. Lost in music actions, only touched by the hand of rhythm and sound. His ten tracks are created for such flashes, wide spreading a musical narration of illuminating durability.
