How should we manage the distance between ourselves and others? I observe myself feeling isolated and yet not wanting to get close to others, and I fall into confusion. What is it to want to connect with others? And likewise, what is it to not to want to?

There are times when I am unable to read the unconscious tides of my heart. The feeling itself may also be part of such tides.

Loneliness is a mysterious phenomenon. In this city of Tokyo, overflowing with people, we feel loneliness. And yet, in a village with few inhabitants, the distance from others is so close as to be unable to breathe.

How should one go on amidst this? Perhaps this is something one may never know.
