Ville Lähteenmäki Trio is an ambitious and explosive band from Trondheim, that consists of some of Finland’s and Norway’s most exciting young jazz musicians: Ville Lähteenmäki, Nicolas Leirtrø, and Trym Saugstad Karlsen. Their music is influenced by 1960’s and 1970’s jazz icons, such as Pharoah Sanders, Archie Shepp, Alice Coltrane and Albert Ayler. Currently the band is working on their debut album, which will be released in the summer of 2022. The album is honoring the trio’s biggest heroes in music, but it is also a fresh breath of the future of nordic jazz.
