Psychoactive twiss-up from Black Zone Myth Chant, freaking the dancehall with slippery mutations in the cracks between Emma DJ, Slikback, Low Jack, Rian Treanor.

Notable by his absence since 2018, BZMC returns to the ‘floor via his Winged Sun Records (home to his High Wolf alias, among others) with a rudely potent skew of Trap x Tekno ballistics in four tight shots. Familiar aspects of his unique records for Editions Gravats, such as screwed vox and dub-wise FX, are still in place, but now augmented by more robust and explicit club dynamics done in his colour out-of-the-lines styles that makes a lot of other dance music seem a bit tame and prosaic by comparison.

Dropping in with the nervy, fizzing ragga-hop swang and insectoid mentasms of ‘Hard Pass’, he maintains the strange pressure thru the desiccated dubstep lurch of ‘QWWF Prudence’ with its rictus halfstep and stressed electronics, before hustling close to Rian Treanor’s squeaky-soled step in the big highlight ‘Kilis’, and sloshing the weird, turgid sorta of drill shape and groggy gravity of ‘Wh8te’, which we imagine will sound superb after a few sherbets and while immersed in a dark dancefloor.
