Audiopile Review: Some names come up again and again in our reviews. We’ve probably mentioned the godlike Peter Hammill a couple of times. Huerco S. (aka Brian Leeds) is another artist we call back to again and again. There’s a reason for this. Huerco is absolutely one of the best electronic music producers in the game today. Elsewhere, you might see us ranting about the unspeakably alien sound design of Rashad Becker’s ‘The Incident’. Huerco S. is a sonic sculpture of equivalent skill but more forgivingly humanistic tendencies. Evidence? See 2016’s gorgeous ‘For Those of You Who Have Never (And Also Those Who Have)’. We’ve stocked (and sold through) every pressing of this since its initial release, and it’s a major Audiopile staff fave, so we’re extra excited to see it back in print. ‘For Those of You…’ surfs in on a big frothy wave of slo-mo post-Rhythm & Sound abstracted hiss-dub and just rides that vibe straight to an enchanted realm of Actress-esque lo-fi bliss.
