‘Experiment Defined’ is a highlight among many of Heinrich Mueller’s releases with Belgian label Wémè Records. originally issued in 2011, it is reissued by Spain’s Apnea with a previously unreleased B2 track, the Terminator-mode hulk of ‘Radiation Vacuum – Dark Body Parameter’ as a very good reason not to sleep on this one.

The spirits of Kraftwerk and Art of Noise loom large over the percolated synth monk motif and precision-tooled percussion of ‘Experiment’, and Beta Evars’ icily glazed vocals ideally come into pay over the super wide, body-scanning bassline of ‘Conclusion’, while she surely channels classic Cosey with the pointed delivery of ‘Hypothesis’. The finale of Brad Fiedel-esque bass and kerb crawling slunk to ‘Radiation Vacuum’ is almost worth cost of entry alone.
