Graham Massey and Martin Price released their third 808 State album ex:el in 1991. It found the Mancunian production crew embracing heavier beats and elements of hip-hop and industrial music amid their techno and house template, and featured New Order’s Bernard Sumner as well as soon-to-be solo star Björk on vocals. Included the UK Top Ten singles ‘Cübik’ and ‘In Yer Face’.
