“Stop” and “Livin’ Up” are two Italo-Disco masterpieces conceived and developed in 1983 by the club-DJ and producer Stefano Zito with the very young composer and arranger Stefano Galante. The latter now lives in Montreal where he has a mega-galactic recording studio and is known as “Steve”.
Of the two friends at the time there was little consideration of the two Stefanos, but today Zito is indicated as a true and proper pioneer of the re-evaluated Italo genre, while many think of Galante as an authentic sound scientist who 40 years ago, aiming to the widest possible use of the electronic instruments at his disposal which were in the avant-garde at that time, he poured his skill above all into these two tracks mixed, co-arranged and produced by Zito and published by the late Carlo Favilli on House of Music, a of the many underestimated labels that today is universally considered at the top of Italo-Disco thanks to those first cosmic productions of those glorious and unforgettable early 80s.
