Audiopile Review: Is Ilian Tape the best electronic label going right now? Italian producer Andrea, issuing his third full length for the German label, is making a strong case here. Alongside mainstays like Skee Mask, The Zenker Brothers, Stenny, MPU101, and Fireground, all of whom have been bowling us over release upon release, Andrea continues Ilian’s unabated hot streak. Like his label mates, Andrea dissects the preceding decades of dance music, nimbly rearranging them into wild new forms, a beautiful tangle of dusty breaks, wobbling dubstep, starry-eyed techno, and chopped-up d&b, funnelled into a pointillist display of rhythmic intensity but always buoyed with an orb-like radiance. Straddling a line between atmospheric club and a new strain of IDM, Andrea and the rest of the Ilian crew, garner equal fanfare from light-footed dancers, discerning DJs and the soft-couched listener who have long ago worn out their grooves on classics from Aphex, Djrum, Daniel Avery and Burial. So if you’ve somehow yet to engage with Ilian, you could no better than starting right here. Easily his most satisfying release and yet another absolute must from Ilian Tape.

Andrea’s third album “Living Room” is a delicate blend of spacious and reflective sounds, unfolding a sonic trip from familiar corners to distant skies.
