Floating (recorded in 1982) is the very intimate debut of Monika Linges, presenting Latin-inspired songs and ballads. With Dennis Luxion, former pianist of trumpet player Chet Baker, Monika Linges found an ideal musical partner, with Luxion supporting her as a composer, Fender Rhodes player and as a singer. After Monika Linges’ big success in Germany in the 1980s, her songs were discovered by DJ’s in the London Club Scene in the early 90s. This led to a comeback with international CD sales and several appearances on compilations within the UK, Asia and on bootlegs.

She performed on other artists’ productions including Nobukazu Takemura and Hipsters in the zone. Her CDs were also released in Japan by Celeste., where her music has been very well-received.
