Audiopile Review: For fans of truly cutting-edge electronic music, a new release by Brian Leeds aka Huerco S. is always an event. But maybe cutting-edge isn’t exactly what you’re after in the summer. Luckily, this dude has a project for that, specifically his minimal house pseudonym Loidis. The only previous release by this project we’re aware of is the excellent three-track 12” from 2018, ‘A Parade, in the Place I Sit, the Floating World (& All its Pleasures)’. Six years later, and at the perfect moment, we’re finally blessed with a Loidis full-length. ‘One Day’ ditches the complex, sometimes murky sound design of Huerco S. for smoothly rolling house beats and buttery dub-techno atmospheres. But listen closely and the details start to emerge. What first appears tastefully minimalist starts to seem a like a psychedelic wormhole of richly textured loops. These are swinging four-on-the-floor grooves that will move your body, for sure. But they’re just as likely to enchant your ears and boggle your mind. So, deep down, not actually that different from the Huerco S. stuff. Just precision tooled for summer vibes.

Six years after the release of the “A Parade, In The Place I Sit, The Floating World (& All Its Pleasures)” EP on anno Records, Brian Leeds, aka Huerco S., returns to the Loidis project with his debut album “One Day” on Incienso.
