British shoegazing/alternative rock band Chapterhouse released two albums during their existence, ‘Whirlpool’ (1991) and ‘Blood Music’ (1993). Their debut album is a fantastic example of shoegaze at its best. The wall of sound approach is built around dance music structures and they’re creating some heavy grooves. Comes on 180 gram vinyl.
The Collectors represents the Canadian psychedelic movement. This self-titled album is one of the true forgotten gems from 1968. The superb song-writing and intelligent use of unusual chord progressions are just brilliant on this record. Comes on 180 gram vinyl.
Golden Earring’s On The Double was the band’s first double album, released in January 1969. It contains 19 tracks varying from poppy songs and acoustics to their well-known heavier rock tracks. The album includes the bands first piano based ballad simply entitled “The Grand Piano”. However, most people will know this album for the song “Just A Little Bit Of Peace In My Heart”, which reached #2 in the singles chart in their homeland The Netherlands. The band was charging like a mad bull through venues all over the country and started to gain attention from countries all over the globe. This is when it started to get really serious for the band.
On The Double is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on red coloured vinyl and the package includes an insert.
In the early 1960’s, when the Jamaican recording industry was still very much in its infancy, the local music scene was dominated by a mere handful of performers. Among these musical pioneers was Derrick Morgan. A year after the launch of the Island record label (1967), they released the ‘Derrick Morgan And His Friends’ LP, which has since become a highly prized collector’s item. Recorded at Jamaica’s premiere recording studio, WIRL, and featuring the musicianship of leading session crews, the Carib Beats and Lyn Taitt & the Jets, the quality of the tracks remains consistently high. Morgan is one of reggae’s real unsung heroes and this compilation makes it all the more compelling.
English electronic part-time music duo Global Communication released their second album 76:14 in 1994, one of the most famous and widely-loved albums in ambient techno. The title of the album corresponds to the record’s total running time in minutes and seconds, just like the songs are named after its length. This is an immense journey into early ‘90s ambient with a doze of techno. The music the duo creates takes you to another world, full of calm, relaxing and atmospheric rhythms and melodies. True to their “Global Communication” moniker, Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard crafted an album that speaks to everyone. This legendary album is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on transparent vinyl
Tracy Lynn Curry, better known by his stage name The D.O.C., is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer, who released his second studio album Helter Skelter in 1996. After a 1989 car crash accident which damaged his vocal cords, this was his comeback album. His voice had changed a lot, but with a fantastic live band the gangsta rap comes alive. His lyrics are still great and worthwhile to listen to. Helter Skelter is available on vinyl for the first time and the package includes a 4-page booklet.

K-Solo is an American rapper who was part of the Hit Squad in the 1990s. He released two albums under his moniker K-Solo. His second album ‘Times Up’ was released in 1992. K-Solo rapping style is slightly aggressive and the music itself is based on a sample-heavy format. Lyrically it’s diverse, focusing on themes as prison live, crime and the daily struggles. Comes on 180 gram vinyl.
Following The Maytals’ signing to Island Records in 1973 they recorded and released their fourth album From the Roots. Leaving behind their early ska days they had yet to settle into the slower tempos which were used more common in the mid-’70s. As a result, music here generally gallops, and vocals fall in line. As heard on gems like “Koo Koo,” “Got To Feel,” and “Pee Pee Cluck Cluck,” the Maytals’ lyrics tend mostly towards love and the pursuit thereof. The recording quality is outstanding for the era, and some of their most explosive tracks can be found on this record.
Available as a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on orange coloured vinyl.
“Dutch prog maestros Supersister titled their final album, Spiral Staircase, after their very first B-side, and returned to that song, as well, opening the LP with a powerful reworking of it, here retitled ‘Retroschizive’. Spiral Staircase is available as a limited edition of 500 copies on green vinyl and includes an insert and printed innersleeve.”
Shelagh McDonald is a Scottish folk singer who mysteriously disappeared in 1971, after she recorded two albums. Her debut ‘Album’ from 1970 is an incredible hidden treasure, showing her wispy and emotive style of folk-rock playing and singing. The arrangements are beautiful and McDonald’s soprano voice can be compared with that of Sandy Denny and Joni Mitchell. Nothing was heard of her until she made contact with the newspaper Scottish Daily Mail in 2005. Comes on 180 gram vinyl.
“Supersister’s unique group sound truly flourished on their second LP. Keyboardist Robert Jan Stips had taken control of all the songwriting. At this point, the group is not borrowing ideas from others, it is pure Supersister, namely in ‘A Girl Named You,’ the group’s first true classic. To The Highest Bidder is available as a limited edition of 500 copies on yellow vinyl and includes an insert.”
“The third Supersister album is a big favorite with prog fans because it provides a good representation of the group’s combination of Caravan-inspired jamming and Zappaesque humor. Pudding En Gisteren is available as a limited edition of 500 copies on turquoise vinyl and includes an insert and printed innersleeve.”
Mikey Dread was a Jamaican singer who played an important role in the popularization of the reggae during the 1970s. His second album, ‘Dread At The Controls’, was released in 1979 and can be seen as a crucial album in the reggae world. Some of the most superb rhythms he recorded with the help of musicians like Robbie Shakespeare, Ranchie McLean, and Earl “Bagga” Walker.
“Magma’s newest album Zess is a 38-minute musical work by Christian Vander. Composed in 1970, Zess had long been plagued by its incompleteness, its recording was deferred for years. Four decades after its first draft, the work has finally been recorded in an orchestral version that gives it both its true dreamlike dimension and its transcending power. The first public performance took place in Bourges in 1979. It is the last piece in a series of unfinished compositions from the 1970’s. During the last 15 years they finished and released all these different pieces. Zess is described as a work that touches the philosophical domain by its treatment of the idea of nothingness and its evocation of the theme of time. Magma turned fifty this year, catapulting into the very exclusive circle of bands who for five decades have never laid down their instruments, nor turned down their volume! The oldest French band still in existence has always played at full sail, never yielding to the siren song of passing trends. The fiercely original music has tirelessly adhered to the highest artistic standards while still reaching a wide audience of all ages.180 gram vinyl, gatefold sleeve with UV spot varnish, four- page booklet.”
O.G. Original Gangster, Ice-T’s 4th album, is arguably Ice’s best album as he continued his streak of classic albums that he started with Rhyme Pays. Ice reached his peak on here, as his lyrics and beat selection were the best they had ever been. Ice-T was a pioneering force for the west coast, especially in the ’80s, as he was one of the first gangster rap artists. At his finest hour, he connected his street language to subjects as violence, social structures, and ghetto life. The refined flow of the beats marks this essential record and masterpiece. The album peaked at number 15 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and was featured in many Best Rap and Hip-Hop lists, as well as the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

John Holt was known as a member of The Paragons, before establishing himself as a solo artist. Like a Bolt adds up to all the singer’s output with Duke Reid’s Treasure Isle label. When this album was first released in 1973, John Holt was already a veteran in the Jamaican music scene. John wrote most of the songs himself, a different approach from the covers he recorded before. It features a lot of his best work from the early years. His classic voice is backed by a musical landscape full of melodies and rhythms. Like a Bolt is a true gem of original reggae.
Nirvana is an album by jazz flutist Herbie Mann with Bill Evans’s Trio featuring Chuck Israels and Paul Motian. The great jazz pianist Bill Evans rarely recorded with flutists, but this exception marks a great collaboration between the jazz musicians. The musical synergy between the two is amazing, as they always become one on each track. It’s a relaxing album, with both some softer as upbeat songs by the four. Fans of either Herbie Mann or Bill Evans will want to acquire this enjoyable record.

Music On Vinyl presents Todd Rundgren the A Wizard, A True Star series. His second album Runt. The Ballad of Todd Rundgren consists of mostly piano-led ballads, with the exceptions being “Bleeding”, “Parole”, and “Chain Letter”. He was playing most of the instruments himself, as he was becoming very particular about arrangements. Rolling stone magazine called it the best album Paul McCartney never made, even though it sounds not exactly the same. Ballad is more song-oriented than its predecessor, but still with some clever in-jokes. He’s never repeating himself and showing moment after moment how talented he is both as a musician as a producer. This one can be placed among Rundgren’s very best albums.
Todd Rundgren is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and record producer who has performed a diverse range of styles as a solo artist and as a member of the band Utopia. He is known for his stage outfits, experimental music and adopting computer technologies to describe his musical ideas.

White Sky is the fifth solo album by Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green. This time he is more focused on rock music, with all the songs written by his brother Mike. It’s not his most innovative record, but one where he just shows another side of his musical abilities.
Desmond Dekker recorded some of his best known songs together with his backing group the Aces. Their single “007 (Shanty Town)” made him Jamaican music’s first outernational superstar, reaching the 14th place in the UK charts. The Leslie Kong produced “Double Dekker” was first issued in 1973 and consists of the best material Desmond recorded during his early years. In 1969 he scored a number one hit with the legendary song “Israelites”. One will hear how the Ska music from the mid-60s developed to the Rocksteady sound. Even before Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff Jamaica already had their own international superstar, Desmond Dekker was his name. Comes on 180 gram vinyl.
