Second part in the Rolando Simmons summer excursions series (you may remember AF019.1, 2018). The swedish is back to Analogical Force in dark days to light the way. Playful modern electronics with enough melody and invention to stimulate your cortex and an almost whistful nostalgic yearning. Hope! fire is burning, flag is flying.
James Shinra return to Analogical Force, and it needs no introduction. ‘Reverie’ is the new 4-track EP where James plunges us into his fantasy world again and will remind you exactly why you fell in love with this talented guy. JUST DIVE IN.
A very special 12Inch for people who appreciate it.
Long time following Bewwip’s footsteps, the encounter between us was only a matter of time. We cannnnnot overstate our love for this elusive artist and we bring it proudly. Welcome sir 4rd. A+++ stuff for those who know.
New recordlabel started by Analogical Force, the Madrid-based underground nightclub focussing on spreading serious electronic music with attitude and without corsets, from experimental to acid and techno. AF debuts on wax with the ‘Perisocpe ep’ by the Rephlex affiliated duo D’Arcangelo, including a remix by the Dub records affiliated Dutch artist Kettel. Five years have passed since the brothers issued ‘Cradle and go’ on 030303 Records. Since then and since closing Rephlex many have been looking forward to new stuff in the genre. With the ‘Perisocpe ep’ Fabrizio and Marco are steppng forward in their creative process and diving deeper into their sound: avant rhythms, emotive idm, distinct acid flashes plus a surprising array of misty landscapes leading to an engaging myriad of expressive images and shapes. Limited to 300 hand numbered copies.
Just when the 10th anniversary of the still acclaimed ‘NRTHNDR’ album on now-defunct Sublight label, and six years after ‘We Miss You’ and ‘The Shimmering Hour’ on the Rephlex camp, the Aphex Twin-approved producer is back exploring spectral acidish territories, intricate drum patterns with thick synths, nervous breaks and rhythms, nostalgic rising-falling melodies…waving this elements to his will. It seems that Reid has deemed the time right to do what he does best. A record so immune to contemporary styles and aesthetics are almost by definition timeless, and it’s tempting to call ‘Welkin EP’ that. Dwaallicht doesn’t hide his influences; AFX, Squarepusher and Mike Paradinas are obvious reference points, but add Tangerine Dream, Phuture 303 or Mr Fingers to the mix and you’ll get a sense of the scope of Reid’s personal vision. Braindancers: ‘Welkin EP’ will all remind you exactly why you loved this talented guy for so long and why hes one of the most uncompromising artists working in electronic music this days. Limited to 400 handnumbered copies. Absolutely essential!
Ian Lambert’s long-awaited debut EP on Analogical Force has been many months in the making and the wait was absolutely worth it. ‘Coordinate EP’ embodies a masterpiece of structured chaos sculpted by intricate acid lines, playful melodies, heavy breakbeats and razor sharp glitches executed with expert precision signature to his programist-driven sound. This record embarks on a cerebral journey and leaves you eager for more. Fans of Phoenecia, Aphex Twin, Richard Devine, Dwaallicht will surely enjoy. Daed is a welcome addition to Analogical Force.
‘The story behind AF023 is pretty simple: the infamous Brainwaltzera has put me on the track of this guy from Brighton, whose stuff I felt fascinated with. The result is -Ubal EP, Mause’s debut. Ball’s on your roof now! I wouldn’t miss it if i were you.’ Pervert.
